Hi Birchie. The old premises is now a cafe (the Rowing Pavillion). The meeting is right next door in the Swan River Rowing Club.

The only time I have got an eat when the fish has definitely seen the boat is when they have been teased with a hookless popper. Have had them eat 10 feet from the boat in this scenario.

I reckon big ones on flats are harder than Permit :)

Thanks Simon. I tend not to use really big flies, so that might be an issue for me.

Sounds like even with big flies they either smash it straight away or don’t eat?

Thinking about good GTs on the flats, specifically enticing a strike. Just wondering how many people have had one follow the fly for any length of time and still had the fish eat? I’m talking about fish of say 10kg plus - not small ones. I haven’t hooked nearly enough big GTs, but all of the ones I ...

I’m thinking of installing SeaDek on the casting decks in my boat. Does any one know anybody local (Perth) that does this professionally (custom fitting)?

Anybody have any experience with creating custom templates yourself and getting it cut interstate/overseas?
