Re: Thoughts on this fly

Dan. Been fishing a bit ATM because this is just about the best time of year for bream in Swan and Canning rivers. That fly you posted up will slay the bream. Only problem is blowfish will make short work of the rabbit. Below fly is pretty much all I use around Perth. All synthetic so it doesn't att...

Re: Seen better days

This one's seen one or two fish over it's lifetime. Maybe still good for another fish or two.

Re: Kalgan Mulloway & Bream fly

Hi Dan There are rumours of mulloway in Blackwood, but generally, they are not a regular catch there. That fly pattern is spot on for bream tied in appropriate sizes. #6, #4, #2, with varying weights. At it's best, the Blackwood is a trophy fishery. When we were there end of last year, there was a r...

Meeting Tuesday 4 February 2020

A happy new year to everyone. Our next meeting is just around the corner. This month's meeting we have the following on offer. With the next field day being Walpole, Andre will give a rundown on how to fish Walpole. While this fishery has suffered in recent years for various reasons, last year's tri...

Re: Fly line storage

Hi Matt Club member Craig Radford had some line winders made up. Unfortunately, they are no longer available. The next best option is the Rio cranky. If you have Rio lines keep the cartridge, as you can reuse them with the kit. The othe option is the Omni spool. Attached link for your reference. htt...

Re: Looking for peter Morse books

It's a pretty old book Dan. May be hard to find.

Rocking horse poo Al. Guys that have them aren't likely to let them go. May need to see if you can get one built up.

Re: Weed Guards

Steve's fly Dave.
I've never really bothered with weed guards in the past. Just tie more flies and expect to lose a few.

Weed Guards

Just putting this out there. Do you fish flies with weed guards? Do they work? Do they cost fish? sw22nov19-3632.JPG Arnold, Steve and myself went for an afternoon fish one day last weekend. Steve had some flies tied up with weed guards. I've never bothered much in the past with weed guards. I lost ...
