Weed Guards

Just putting this out there. Do you fish flies with weed guards? Do they work? Do they cost fish?

Arnold, Steve and myself went for an afternoon fish one day last weekend. Steve had some flies tied up with weed guards. I've never bothered much in the past with weed guards. I lost one fly. Arnold lost about 4. All to snags in the water. Steve didn't lose any flies that session.
Interested to see if anyone fishes with weed guard flies regularly.

I've never really bothered with weed guards in the past. Just tie more flies and expect to lose a few.
