Minkota repairs

Post by Roger Smith » Wed Mar 25, 2020 3:33 pm

Had a problem with my Minkota at the Blackwood weekend.
Returned it to Dinghy World who fell over themselves trying to help.
Said they needed to send it to Queensland for a warranty repair. Hoped I'd get it back b4 Xmas
2 weeks later I had a call from them saying it was ready and they wanted my address so they could deliver
it to my home. (WHAT!)
Turned out their is now a parts and service in Mandurah.
Mandurah Motor Marine
97 Park rd Mandurah 95815020
Went and collected it, they did a great job.
Tested out today and the prop stayed attached.
Very Happy with the service

Nice. Another shout out to dinghy world from me to. They were unbelievably helpful when I needed a new minnkota shipped up to Exmouth a couple of years ago.

I can also vouch for Dinghy World's customer service - no-one in town could get close to their price on a Minn Kota.

My minnkota shat itself again last weekend, problem in the bottom end
Service guy in Mandurah has closed up shop so I had to take it to Bunbury.
Damian Griffiths at Sports Marine. Was very helpful and idetified the problem as salt water getting in to the bottom bearings and corroding. he had another on his workbench with the same problem
Bad news was that there are no parts available in Aus, Have to come from USA 6-8 weeks. Cost to fix inc labour $959.00 :o
Not so Jolly Roger :(

Picked up from repair shop today.
The part that we were waiting on turned out to be a complete new bottom end inc propeller.
just like a brand new outfit no wonder it cost so much.
Anyway happy to have it back so I can go fishing again

Another vote for Damian.
My minn kota stopped suddenly up at Exmouth , when I disassembled the bottom end
I discovered that one of the brush springs had broken.
I tried ringing around and it seems nobody in WA is interested in servicing
Minn kota.
Got onto Damian and he sent me a couple of springs free of charge.
Worked a treat.
