Meeting Tuesday 2 April 2024

Post by Tony Ong » Thu Mar 21, 2024 6:09 pm

Hi all
April's meeting, we have the following.
With the Salmon run well and truely going (hopefully, they will make it up to Perth), we'll do a rundown on how to fish for Salmon. They are truely a great sport fish, and accessible for shore and boat based fishers.
Gary is going to present a talk on how climate change is going to affect fisheries in the next 3 to 6 months.
There's been some new boating safety rules introduced in the last 6 months, as well as more new regs that are due to be introduced shortly. We'll run through these changes, as well as things that you will need to be aware of is you are a boater.
Last field day was on the Blackwood River. We had pretty good conditions, and saw Blackwood fish about as good as it gets. While we didn't see any big fish, there were plenty around to keep us occupied over the weekend. The next field day is Dunsborough. Target species is salmon. For those that are heading down, we'll try and base ourselves out of Dunsborough Lakes Holiday Resort. This is a book your own, so if you're keen to head down, make sure that you book your accomodation early.
We also ran a casting day in March. Was a great turnout, with 25 odd attendees.
Graeme and co will be casting before the meeting.
Should be a good night. Hope to see you there.
