Easter Salmon

Post by Dave Bailey » Sun Apr 16, 2017 11:03 pm

Had a fun day out on Good Friday with Steve chasing Salmon, and bumped in to a few club members.

Decent numbers of fish around - we landed 10 each, with a dozen or so of them taken on popper flies.

Here are a few pics.

I got one on Friday too, just as I had given up on life and was heading for the launch spot. I was in quite shallow water and a school went right under the yak. A quick 180 and I'm sight fishing to salmon in <2m of water in the metro area again! :)

After landing mine, I called Dee over and headed for home.

It's all good boys, the lesson I learnt on Friday is if your going to destroy your 4 piece Sage X then do it properly and make it a 6 piece Sage X  :D :D still in an even number of pieces !!

Ouch, not good timing 2 weeks before Boneheads. No doubt you have 6 or 8 spares :)

Did the same to my Scott Meridian during the field day. Happy to say the replacement is in the mail and will be here in time for Boneheads.

It ended up saving the day for sure. Pitty about the lads in the boats swamping the place when the fish was on. No room to even get a back cast out!

Steve even numbers with the break but on my count you are one rod down in the locker so that must make you back on odds. That's bad juju?
