Saltwater Flyrodders

Haven't had much luck converting my mates to the joys of fly fishing yet. Just a beginner but if anyone want's to go for a fish around Perth in the next few weeks I'd love to see how it's done properly or meet some other newbies.

I suspected as much but didn't even think about customs dramas until the checkout. Easy to get carried away when you start adding shiny new gear to the shopping cart. Just wanted to pad out an order a bit.

Certainly don't wan't to be bringing in anything that can survive being dyed nuclear green ...

I'm keen to get into tying my own flies and I should be getting my vice soon. Still trying to get my head around all of the jargon as there's so much to take in to begin with.

Found a few starters kits for saltwater flies to get me going but what's the story with customs?

Picked up 3 very nice fish by 7.30 on Sunday morning. 2 of them were 50cm plus and one about 35. The two biggies both looked like they were full of roe. Looks like it could be a very good summer for flathead.

No takes on pink and white for me, but yellow/white/flash clouser did the trick.

Hoping to have a few weeks off at the beginning of September and I'm itching to do some exploring.

Haven't been North of Geraldton so looking for somewhere that I could do some land based fly fishing that I can get my 2wd to.
How feasible would fishing the beaches within a few hours walking ...
