Yes it was. Not too sure if he is now. But this message is more of a warning to other members - not about my situation.
Personally I would think that non members should not be able to sell via this auction. I'd be surprised if it was allowed in the past.

Re: Meeting Tuesday 7 June 2022
For the prospective buyers at this auction… BUYERS BEWARE. There is no recourse if you buy something here and it is faulty or has an incorrect description. In fact you have less recourse than if you buy through EBay or Gumtree. I would have thought that you could place some trust in fellow club memb...

Re: Braided Mono loop to backing
I think you misunderstand. I (and many other people), first tie a loop in the backing with a knot (bimini, spider hitch or several other knots). Seems to me that you are not doing this but are relying purely on the 6 or 8 times you interlock the doubled dacron backing at the braided loop opening to ...

Re: Braided Mono loop to backing
I'm not sure what you mean by tag end of the backing if it's not the tag end of the knot (like Brett says). Surely you are knotting the backing to make the loop in the backing and then attaching it to the loop you've created to allow for the easy changing of fly lines. If not, I would never rely in ...

Re: Swap 3wt for 8wt
Hadn't seen this until now...
Cheeky bastard...but you don't know the latest spots. These wouldn't be any good for a 3 wt anyway - carp are too big and timber too close!!!!

Re: Meeting Tuesday 7 September 2021
With regards to the discussion on Carp.... I have been having a ball on Carp over the last couple of years. I have caught quite a few over 3kg and seen fish probably over 6kg. Some people seem to think they are an easy target and perhaps they are in some locations - but not where I fish. They can be...

Re: Flats GTs
Just thought of another piece of evidence for large flies... I've done LOTS of spin rod popper fishing for GTs. Admittedly most of this is nearer deeper water as a popper across shallow flats will often spook GTs - but water less than say 2 metres is common. Have proven time and time again that big ...

Re: Flats GTs
Dave I must admit it's been a long time since I did more than a small amount of this. Over about 3 trips we were targeting GTs on a flat almost every day ranging from about 10kg to probably over 70kg (based on a weighed one at 46kg) or bigger. By my memory was if the fly was big enough - it would ea...
