don't worry David...we can do this via email also.
Have a think about what weight rod you want, Top end blanks are about USD$350 such as sage, T&T, CTS. The rest are less down to ~15o-ish. Decide what your budget will be and we'll take it from there.
Check out mudhole (note they do not stock all of the blanks that some manufacturers have available....)
cheers

Martin, do you think it might be worth putting a group buy order into Mudhole? Would that save on shipping costs? (I don't even know if their shipping costs are reasonable, or if they are horrifically expensive like a lot of other US companies ... )

Cheers,

Hi guys I am back from a great trip to Exmouth (milkies, permit, tuna etc) and will be at the rod construction meeting.
I am looking to have a crack at an 8wt, not sure what brand, I hope to get some advise.
Cheers Mick

Graeme,
yeah I reckon we should do a group buy...the shipping's not bad, but everybit helps.
I'm thinking of doing an 8wt, or a 9wt or a 10 weight or an 11wt, or....
I reckon we should have our chat on Tuesday and start putting together a combined shopping list
cheers
