Echo Fly Rods

Anyone cast an Echo fly rod, and if so what did you think of it?

Thanks,

Dave.

Love the irony of the thread appearing three times. Almost like there's an echo in here ... :)

But no, I haven't cast one yet.

I have deleted the other two threads (I think) :)

I am considering the 6'6" 3 weight or the slightly longer 2 weight in the 'Carbon' range.

Looking for a short light rod for tackling SW rivers...which I have never done before, but has been in the back of my mind for a long time...maybe this spring/summer :)

David

Did you get to cast that little 7 foot 4wt I took to the last casting day? Its an MHX blank. Brad McDonald built it up for me and he has access to other light blanks in that range too. Another option. He has built a couple of epics for birchy I think too.

Hi Brad,

I didn't cast that rod unfortunately...must have been to busy socialising, or trying to keep warm! :)

I've ordered the Echo, so I will see how that goes.

Dave.

Hi Dave,
If you are referring to the Tim Rajeff range of rods I have the Echo2 Saltwater 8wt 9'. Not bad fit and finish & casts pretty good to. I'll bring it to Sundays casting day for you to inspect.

get in contact with Lee @ clutch fly rods mate, he is building some EPIC rods and is now doing some troutie stuff which isn't released as yet, but will build any of his blanks with salt specifications.. rumour on the street is they are pretty damn special!
