Fly Fishing Festival Wed 23 September 2015

Post by Tony Ong » Fri Jul 17, 2015 9:37 am

Dates for this year's Fly fishing festival has been announced as 23 September 2015. Please support Nick and his work by attending the festival. Venue is Hoyts Millenium Cinema in Fremantle. A few of us usually meet up for a meal before hand. Any recommendations? I think last year was at the Sail and Anchor.

RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2015
Fly fishing’s most celebrated annual event, the RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival, continues its global tour during August and September in Australia. The traveling spectacle serves as a stage for the best filmmakers in the fly fishing industry and allows the fishing community to share their passion for the sport by attending film screenings across the country.
In its 10th year, RISE is celebrating a decade of bringing the best fishing entertainment to cinemas around the world. Australian audiences can look forward to stunning footage from Iceland, Australia, New Zealand and the USA presented in high definition on the big screen.

Gin-Clear Media's Backcountry – South Island is the feature film of the festival. The sequel film to the highly acclaimed Backcountry – North Island, we once again explore the stunning fishing opportunities in the New Zealand backcountry. The South Island has vast tracts of some of the most intact, undisturbed natural areas left on our planet—these last truly wild places deliver beauty and isolation in spades but it is the allure of giant trout in crystal clear water that draws anglers from around the globe to this treasured land.

For many, RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival has become so much more than just going to the cinema. These annual fish-fests have become a true celebration of fly fishing, it's an excuse to get together with friends and reminisce about the past season as well as look forward to the season to come.
Presented by Gin-Clear Media, RISE will screen across Australia, including Brisbane, Central Coast, Sydney, Bowral, Canberra, Albury, Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo, Hobart, Burnie, Launceston, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.

I'll take a wild guess, maybe the cinema is either booked out or too expensive to hire on the weekends ? Nick Reighert is the man to ask.

Another possibility, most blokes can sneak out for a boys night during the week but i reckon a big percentage would have their weekends pre-booked for them by their other halves on the weekends.

I'm guessing it's availability of the cinema as well Matt. You need to petition Nick to do a SW tour next year. :)

Will have to check with Nick on that. Will all depend on the cost of bringing the show down south.

Looking forward to Wednesday night :)

I am planning to head to Freo before hand for some dinner, and to soak up some pre preliminary final atmosphere. :)

I'll probably head to the Sail and Anchor around 6pm (same as last year). Anyone else going to grab a meal before hand?

Cheers,

Dave.
