I have a Billy Pate "Tarpon" reel and I stripped the backing off it yesterday and noticed that near the end, the reel was tightening up as though the drag was being applied.
It was suggested that the bearing may have got some corrosion in it.
I wanted to remove the parts to check it out and then able to get the right part. It seems simple enough although it requires a star wrench to remove the handle; as it is second hand I don't have this. So if anyone knows where I could get access to it, I would appreciate the info.
Apparently they came with the reel as new.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: Billy Pate Tarpon
Looks similar to the handle nut on a shimano TLD.
