Yea I heard a few "Old Hands" mention the river needed to flush out and that the Mulloway would come down the river, does any of that make sense? I'm assuming that Mulloway are at home in brackish water as well as salt. Like all fish the must be creatures of habit so pylons are one of there favorite haunts. Any other structure one should look out for?
Hey guys what's the size of the Flies ya tying? Stephen mentioned Flashy, and I'm assuming the profile is Important too. What about color? Well I would assume chartreuse deer tail with flash?
I have floating line on my 9wt ya think I can getaway with that?

John,
I havent caught a mulloway on fly.. but ive done a fair bit of research! you want to use a intersinking line or a sink tip floating line.. something along the lines of 1.5 to 2 ips.. I like the striped bass line.. its a really nice casting line! with a fairly short leader & tippet! rod wts between 7-10wt depending on the size of the fish & how good you are.. for me who isnt the greatest fly fisherman around will be using a 9wt
you want to build up a fly which is similar to the fly rohan uploaded in " on the bench "section under the mulloway fly trend! Ive tied a few different flies up already and plan on getting a heap more ready..
they tend to eat on the turn of the tide! so either 1 hour before and after the low.. or the high! I like fishing the low tide at the narrows.. its really easy to get out to the pylons if your knee deep in water!
give us a ring john and we can tee up a meet and get amongst the action.. fingers crossed same goes to anyone else whos keen on getting amongst it!
id like to fish the causeway for them but havent got the balls to hang around at night alone! so if we could get a crew of us down there that would be cool aswell!
