Yes please bring your Shilton along. I think Terry had one in Exmouth that I thought was fairly good. But do you mean it hasn't got a drag? I certainly want a drag (I always prefer cork).
Thanks for the suggestions....any more for a reel a bit smaller than the Tibor Everglades?

Then look at a Riptide. That way you'll have 'proper' 8 and 10 weight reels. Not those keyring sized things you've been fishing with.
If you're after something lighter, then have a look at the Sage 4280.

The Sage looks interesting.... plenty big enough.......
Remember that I fish mainly shooting heads so I guess I would get 300m of spectra with a shooting head (maybe more). With the large arbors these reels have - that's plenty. So no Tony - I don't need a Riptide (want yes - need no) - and you used to give me heaps about the weight of my Grist's.
No one has said Abel. The Super7 looks good. I like the simplicity of their drags. Plenty around at the moment at clearance prices (around $400)

From the amount of interest, we may have to do a 'Reel' night for a future club meeting.
That way we can work out which is the 'Reel deal'.

Mr. Hammond you get what you pay for "TIBOR EVERGLADS" its first class mate, had mine since 2003 caught a few good fish over the years, needs very little maintanence, has heaps of backing and plenty of drag.

Belly I'd say the Abel's are built to last a lifetime being handmade down to the screws
