New Angler in Perth

Post by Martin » Sun Jul 24, 2016 8:40 pm

Hi everyone

I just moved to Perth, and I have been fishing overseas all my life, I brought all my flyfishing gear with me, but the fishing places, species and techniques are quite unknown for me.

I was wondering if somebody could give me some advises of how could I start to explore the shore flyfishing places around Perth, any advise of places, spices or fly patters would help me a lot.

Thank a lot,

Martin Jaramillo

G'day Martin,

Welcome to Perth!

You'll find some info that might help in the "Guides" section of the club's web site front page. There are few flathead and bream around in the river at the moment and still the odd salmon frequenting the ocean shores.

Come along to the club night on the first Tuesday of the month for more info directly from the horses' mouths.

Cheers,

G'day Martin,

No, you don't need to do anything to come to the meeting, other than make the effort to get there. :)

We also have a short casting session in a nearby park before each meeting if you're interested in getting a few tips to improve your casting (or even if you have some tips to share.)

Cheers,

Hi Graeme,

Sorry I couldn't make it to the meeting, but I`ll go to the next one. Thanks anyway.

For the moment I´ll try to fish the river, to see if a can get some luck, if anyone need a fishing parter or whant to tie some flies in this days I`ll be happy to go.

Cheers,

Martin
