Hey guys,
I've picked up a 4wt Sage One for light salt water use and was wondering if anyone here has used this rod and could offer some advice on which line to use. I was after a WF floater and thinking about the SA MPX.
Thanks in advance
Torren

Thanks for the offer Daniel but unfortunately I'm working this weekend and won't be able to make it.

Hi Torren, is it the 8’6” model?
I’ve got that one (no pun intended

), and it certainly can be over lined - I’m running a 5 weight Rio midge tip on it at the moment and like it a lot.
I also use it with a 4 weight SA wet tip (old line - unfortunately no longer available).

It's the 9ft version Dave. Thanks for the reply.

My favourite line at the moment is the Rio Single Hand Spey line. I've got it in three line weights including the 4wt.
I'm heading down to Augusta this morning and back through your way on Thursday afternoon. Give me a yell on the phone if you want to try the line.
Cheers,
Graeme

Hi Torren
I haven't cast the 4 weight One much, however, the 5 weight One is still my go to bream rod. I'm currently using the Rio Elite Technical Trout. This is the low stretch version, and is a great presentation line. For me, the low stretch gives heaps better hook set in saltwater conditions. The Rio Gold (again go the low stretch version) will handle heavier flies a little easer. I haven't fished the MPX so can't comment. The other line that I'm tempted to try is the SA Amplitude Smooth Infinity.
