I’m thinking of installing SeaDek on the casting decks in my boat. Does any one know anybody local (Perth) that does this professionally (custom fitting)?
Anybody have any experience with creating custom templates yourself and getting it cut interstate/overseas?
Cheers, Dave.

Hi Dave .
Not quite what you were asking , I got some cheap foam deck off Ebay.
Been on the boat around 18 months.
Seems to be holding up OK so far.
Just don't forget to take your studded rockhopper off before walking on it.

I've also gone down the path of cheap ebay foam Dave. The foam I sourced is 6mm thick. I'm halfway through cutting templates out. Haven't actually got round to cutting the foam yet. Going to experiment with using a router to round off the edges. If you're not in a rush, can have a look to see how mine turns out.
The old stuff I used was Diamond Deck. I rushed that install, and it didn't look pretty, but was very practical. Definitely softens the ride, and the feet don't get as fatigued. Probably lasted 3 years, even with my dodgy install. I'm hoping this one will last a little longer, as it was a pain to pull up the old foam and clean up the floor ready for the new foam.
Dan, I previously had a light grey (almost white) foam. Was a lot cooler than the dark blue carpet from my old tinny.

I might give these guys a call
www.deckarmour.com.au Could be a bit of sticker shock coming I suspect
Birchy, are these the guys you saw at the boat show?
The main thing is I want it to look good, and suspect I won't be happy with it if I cut it.

Dave , I get where you are coming from.
I did the casting deck on a beat up aluminum side console that I picked up
for my Northern adventures.
( Alberto wasn't too impressed with my skill set

)
Daniel , like Tony I used light grey plank style.
It's also available in Teak / Cork color.
Also like Tony I think its comfortable under foot without being too spongy.
As to heat , can't really remember. I cover up pretty well these days.
( had a few skin cancers burnt off ).
Usually wear thick work socks , which I can dunk in the water.
Keeps the feet cool and protection from sunburn.
