Hi all
This month's meeting, we have the following activities.
Gary will present some info on water temps that he's been working on and how it's going to affect fishing the next couple of months. We've had a very hot summer, and water temps have been high. We know that with hot water currents coming down from the north, it's not likely that we'll have a very good metro salmon season. On the other hand, the next couple of months will be a good time to try and get a Perth metro mackerel on fly. See what other species will be affected by the hot water temperatures.
Dave and Steve did a trip to Louisiana October last year. They are going to share a trip report of how they went. The trip was touch and go for a while because of weather, but they managed to get a fish or two.
The next field day is Blackwood River, Augusta. There is possibly one final spot left. Please check the Blackwood Field Day post.
We have a casting day on Sunday 23rd March. More details will be posted in a separate post.
Graeme and Richard will be casting at the park above Swan Canoe Club from 4.00. Come down if you want some tips and help. Richard is also running the FFI casting skills development course.
Meetings start at 7.30 pm, but with the casting prior to the meeting, there will be members around from 4.00pm.
