VHF Radio Operators Certificate

Gents,
A little more info on the proposed VHF course.
I have been in touch with Whitfords Sea Rescue and they are able to run the Course for us.
The cost is $200 dollars (they are offering the course at Whitfords member’s price) and it will run over 2 nights or it is possible to run it on a Saturday or Sunday.
At the end, in both cases will be a 30min test. This will be sent off to the Australian Maritime College for assessment and issue of licence.
There are cheaper options, though they are with private companies and are around the $140 mark. For this they give you a downloaded booklet and you just go in for testing.
I think that the extra cash should be seen as a donation to Whitfords as any money they make, is put back into the costs of running the sea rescue side of things.
The below list is what I have taken from the other post, regarding interest so far.
Can you confirm you are still interested or are not on the list?
Tony Ong (YES)
Brian Harwood (YES)
Dave Bailey (YES)
Andre Rossouw (YES)
Peter Birch (YES)
Simon Gilbert (YES)
Spencer King (YES)
