Just wondering what rods people have had experience with in the 4 wt range.
Looking at a 4wt for breaming mainly and other estuary species. Was thinking a 3
but 4 would be better in wind aye ?? Also look around 8 foot, has anyone found the shorter
rods harder to use. Just thinking it might make it easier up the creeks for snags, but than
the down fall maybe not as good on the flats. Cheers for any info would be great thanks

Have you got a 6 that will do a similar job?

Hi Matt,

I have an 8'6" Sage One 4 weight which I really like.

I find shorter rods easier to use in general - easier to control loops and accuracy, albeit at the cost of a little distance.

I have also cast the 9' version of the One 4 weight. This is also a sweet rod - it felt slightly more progressive/not quite as fast as the 8'6" version to me.

Cheers,

Dave.
