We have a casting day planned for Sunday 26 October 2014. Venue to be advised closer to the date.
Casting days are one of our better patronized events. This event is open to everyone. Bring along a friend who has expressed interest in taking up fly fishing. There are quite a few good casters in the club who will be willing to lend a hand with any casting advise.
We will also be running a distance casting event, and the club is going to donate a rod as a prize for the longest cast.

Hi Justin. Everyone will be using the same rod, line and reel. We just have to make sure that we are able to get a rod here first on time for the casting day before we make the announcement. The rod that we are using will be the prize for the longest cast. It's listed on various websites as 3/4 or 4/5 wt. Take your pick what weight that means.

Geez Pete,
If we use glass, you will have an unfair advantage mate. Although I do learn on the fly ;-)

Venue for casting day is Nedlands Rugby Club grounds. At the river end of The Broadway. Start time 10.00am. Cast till you drop.
There is usually a good mix of rods, reels and lines to try out. It's always an interesting day. Rohan has the new Sage Salt in stock now. Hopefully, he will have some to bring down before he sells them all.

Birchy, with your snoring, it's definitely ala carte :)

I was fishing the Dunsborough flats over the weekend and pick up a few giant herring 40cm + on the fly!!! great fun,

Unfortunately, for the second casting day running we have a sale all weekend at Bluewater, which means i'm working; however at least one Sage Salt is already sold so there will be at least one to try out.
