Ya I thought 40lb wasnt as invisible as I would like flyfishing. Ended up using 15lb for Giant Herring because they were shying away from the 20lb stuff. And learnt the hard way to retie back on the fly after landing a fish, or not even that, but every time I got a good solid take and had a fish on for a bit I would check the fly straight away before chucking it back out. I guess I will start with 20lb for the slamon and then see how I go when I start getting amoungst them and weather or not I should up it to 25lb or 30lb along the way. Im fishing from shoreline.
What type and size flies should I be looking at picking up for chasing salmon? What kind of ground do they like to patrol and are they near the shore often?
