My first go at tying a fatboy Olive over White, its only on a 2/0 hook but Im happy with the result. Photos are one under the light and one with the lamp turned off

They look good Michael.

Try and keep as much of the gape of the hook open as possible - it can be a challenge with 2/0's!

I like the proportions and colours :)

Well done Mike, as Dave said always try and keep as much of the gape of the hook as possible. I try and pull the mylar head up and glue it so the bottom of it is touching the shank of the hook before coating the head of the fly this usually maximises the gape. You could also do some on 4/0's, olive over white fat boy's catch pretty much everything in Exmouth except maybe Permit and Bones ! :) see the rough photos below of a hardy head style fatboy's that hooked everything for me last Christmas up there (small one 2/0, larger one 4/0). :D

Hi guys,
I'm heading to ningaloo mid may for a month and am wondering what the best patterns are. Seems this is definitely one! Nice tie for all of them. What do you use for the head? I have fleye goo. What hooks? Gam S12?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Bren

Heres one I did for my snakehead trip to thailand- was given the tip of the stinger by another flyfisher that has done it before. Would remove it for anything that swims here. Will be doing a few soon for the salmon season and might play around with some ear plug poppers too.
