Preferred sizes \u2013 2 for small version, size 1\/0 for larger version.<\/p>\n<p>Thread \u2013 Danville\u2019s Fine monofilament tying thread.<\/p>\n<p>Weight \u2013 Medium Brass hourglass (small version) or Large Brass Hourglass<\/p>\n<p>(larger version). If presented correctly it\u2019s advantage is it\u2019s quick to settle on the bottom, doesn\u2019t spook the fish and usually requires only very small if any stripping by the angler to elicit a take . Make sure to bend\/splay the eye stalks a little to the desired position and ensure the dumbbell eyes are square to the hook shank (hook point sits vertical, not to one side). At this point you can also trim the silicone legs and feelers to approx. another 1\u00bd hook lengths beyond the hook bend.
