Althought I've lived close to Shark Bay for a long time I've never fished out of Nanga. Any one want to share any info about the area? I'll be dragging down a 4m boat to use for the couple of days we are there.

Nanga, Shark Bay
Re: Nanga, Shark Bay
Have you been to Nanga yet Adam? Passed by on the way to Denham. Didn't get a chance to fish that side of SB, so will be keen to do another explore of the area.
Re: Nanga, Shark Bay
No we got blown and rained out the weekend we where going to go. Went up to Coral Bay the following weekend instead had a ball but had high winds. Troy said you had a great trip to Exmouth and Shark Bay. I gave him some co-ords for east, west and north of Denham for you. It was probably a little late though.
The whole area from the back of Shark Bay up to Exmouth Gulf is a great fishery and really has something for everyone (blue water, flat and creeks).
I'm still trying to get to a club meeting after all these years but just can't seem to get to Perth at the right time with nothing on on the night.
Off to Darwin for a week next Thursday with the fly rod and starting to plan a trip to the back of Exmouth Gulf for 4-5 days in May.

Re: Nanga, Shark Bay
Yeah, a couple of outstanding trips back to back. Will post some of it up here soon.
We fished a very small part Shark Bay. Wind dictated where we fished each day. The flats looked so awesome, but the week we were there, held very little life on them. Plans are already a foot for a return trip next year.
If you're down in Perth and have some time to kill, drop us a line. I'll scrounge up an improtu club meeting.

That would be good. Mind you I see Aaron heaps and we still haven't managed to go fishing.
The spots I gave to Troy included some shore based options for when the wind blows. I'll dig up some more from some friends I used to fish.
The fishing is starting to increase with the increased nutrient loading and decrease in the commercial fishing. It has been an exceptional year for giant herring around here.
