Fly Tying Day Sunday 24 March 2013

Post by Tony Ong » Wed Feb 20, 2013 9:13 am

Our club tying days have been one of the most popular field days the last few years. Because of this, we're going to run them more regularily through the year.
If you would like to learn about how to tie flies, or would like to learn how to tie a particular fly, this is a great chance to watch how different techniques are used. If there is something that you wish to learn how to tie, post up on here so that we have time to bring the right materials on the day.
The club also has spare tying vice and materials, so beginners can come along and get started.
The first tying day is scheduled for next month. Sunday 24 March 2013. Venue to be confirmed.

We've managed to railroad Phil into lending us his workshop again for the tying day.

A reminder that the tying day is this coming Sunday. Please take note that the freeway will be closed for the RAC Freeway Bike Hike.

Hi Stephen
I'll have the materials along for that. We have a Rompin trip planned for the second half of this year, and a couple of the guys will want to have a look at these as well.
On another note, if I could get some volunteers to bring some tables and chairs, as we may be a little short on these.

I can bring one table (maybe two, depending on whether I can get the uncured epoxy resin off it) and some folding camp chairs. They are those low-slung ones though, so I don't know if they will be suitable for some guys.

Cheers,
