Top water flies for bream

Post by Stephen Winsor » Tue Feb 26, 2013 7:39 am

Morning Guys/Girls

anyone tried using gurglers for bream? I was thinking of making a couple up in a light pink/shrimpy colour with a
marabou tail & a lightly dubbed body.. even a chenille body? im not 100 % sure yet! im going to do a little bit of research
on making them today....

im interested to know if stinger hooks are worth while ? and if colour really makes a difference? ( i dont think it would) but I could be wrong

any ideas?

Cheers in advance!
:D

Hi Steve
Not something I've had a lot of success with in the past, but then I've very rarely fished surface flies for bream. Something that I should try more often. There's a couple of guys that have been using gurgler style flies during the hotter months with some success. I would say that's the time to target them when there's more bugs in the air. Termites (dry fly) dead drift would be fun in a hatch as well.
