Casting Day Sunday 21 June 2015

Post by Tony Ong » Thu May 28, 2015 5:10 pm

Time for another one of these
Venue: Nedland Rugby Club grounds. It's at the end of the Broadway in Nedlands.
Time: 9.30am start. Usually runs till around 3pm, or when we all run out of steam.
Please check back here in case there are any last minute changes to the venue.

We'll have a couple of novelty casting exercises set up for those that would like to test their skills.
Bring along some rods, reels and some different lines. The idea of the day is to try and have as broad a range of gear out for all to try. Different line/rod combinations will often mean the difference between feeling that a rod is crap and a mythical beast that casts like a demon.
This is also a good time to brush up on some of your casting skills. There's a few guys around that will be happy to give some pointers to keep you going down the right track.
If you know of anyone who is interested in getting into fly fishing, or would like some casting help, invite them along to the day.

Nathan, everyone is welcome to come along.
If there's enough interest, we'll run a beginners clinic. Hopefully give you a basic understanding of fly casting and terminology used, as well as giving you some drills to go away to practice with.
