Regular Casting Clinics
Regular Casting Clinics
Hi all,
As mentioned at the last meeting, some of us are studying for our Certified Casting Instructor qualifications and require "guinea pigs" who are willing to let us teach them to cast. It seems the only nights we have free in common on a regular basis at the moment are the club nights themselves, so I've suggested we get together on the meeting nights before the meeting at a nearby park and teach any member who wants tips.
If any members would like to get some tips on casting (or even start from scratch if you need to), I'll be on the oval at Shirley Strickland Reserve from roughly 4.30pm on Tuesday, Apr 5th. (Click here for the location.) Some of the other guys will also try to get there to help out.
At the moment, it's BYO rods, reels and fly lines. I know it's only about an hour of casting practice, but that's enough to get some tips that you can practice with in your own time.
My number is 0400 340 900 if you need help or have questions you don't want to ask on the forum.
Cheers,
Graeme

Thank you Graeme, I'll be there. John O
Re: Regular Casting Clinics
I'm expecting to get to the park at about 5:15 if anyone is super keen. (Easier to go straight from work than to head home and come all the way back. )

Thats such a fantastic offer Graeme. It really shows what you guys are all about.
It's just a shame that it's so far away otherwise I'd be all over it.

Re: Regular Casting Clinics
Thanks Torren. Of course, you're welcome to drop by if you happen to be in town when these are running.
For anybody south of the river, I usually practice casting in the park while my son does his hockey training over the winter months. His training is on Tuesday and Wednesday each week and should continue until September or so. If anybody lives near Melville and wants a little tuition between 4.45 and 6.15pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you can find me at this location. (Best to call me on 0400 340 900 to confirm though.)
One or more of the other guys (Leon, Justin or Andre) may also have some similar arrangements they want to inform you of, but I'll leave that to them. (We are still threatening to get together at other times, but we can't seem to pull our fingers out with any synchronicity ... )
Cheers,
Graeme

G'day Dale,
I am, and there is a slightly different location, which I'll also put in the original post now.
I'll be there from around 4.30pm, going straight from work to get there.

Graeme
