I would have at least a fast sinking line for the boat on the 10wt, intermediate on the 9wt, buy like Spencer says there are odd locations where a fast sinking will get you fish from shore and also I like to use fast sink out of the boat on the lighter rod when chasing bones. Sometimes you'll see a school spooking from the boat and they will still bite readily if you can get a fly to the bottom ahead of them. So at very least I would have an intermediate and a sinking on a spare spool for the 8/9wt and a fast sink for the 10wt. From there you could add a floating line etc , they are very nice to use but have less practical application ( maybe I should say versatility ). A floating on the 10wt would be useful for poppers, and drifting flies for big Milkfish but both these uses are quite specialised. I have the lines to do it on a number of weight rods but they just don't get used much as the first line that gets picked is the most versatile one, and then it tends to stay on the rod until I have a burning need for something specific.
