Tying Day Sunday 24 July 2016

Post by Tony Ong » Mon Jul 18, 2016 9:05 pm

We have a tying day coming up this Sunday.
Venue is Bluwater Melville. Please leave parking out front for shop patrons. Parking is available around the back of the shop.
Start time 10.30 am.
Please post here if there is anything that you wish to be shown how to tie. The club also has some loan vice available on the day, for anyone who would like to get started.
Hope to see you there.

Decievers and whatever flys I need for boneheads. Not sure what to get. If I could get a list of some materials to buy in advance I will be able to copy and tie a few up. Cheers,

Dee :)

You'll need some feathers, flash and buck tail for deceivers. Clousers are easy and quick to tie up. Yellow over white buck tail clousers work well. Maybe pick up some Steve Farrar slinky fibre and flash blend in a couple of colours for synthetic clousers. Should get you started.

Thanks lads,

I have been using this video to tie up a few flies for the salmon, but the head and overall shape of it looks wrong to me at times. Might need a hand with it as I am not sure where I am going wrong at the min.

Cheers,

Dee :)

I'd like to learn to tie Surf Candies, and learn to use my whip finishing tool

What sort of time would we be finishing up lads? I might head off for a sneaky fish first in the morning now that I have my kayak trailer over the pits and licenced! :D

Bluewater shuts at 4, so we'll get kicked out then. We usually pack up around 2.30.
