Precautionary advice – avoid an area 4km off Cape Peron

Post by Liam Surridge » Fri Apr 06, 2018 8:21 am

See link to Water Corp media release:
https://www.watercorporation.com.au/abo ... cape-peron

"As a precaution, Water Corporation has advised people not to swim, dive, kayak or fish within a one kilometre radius of the outlet of the Cape Peron Ocean Outlet until further notice."

May be worth avoiding Coventry reef???

Wow! Let's hope no fish migrate through that area and into more central metropolitan waters, eh? Surely that doesn't happen at this time of the year ....

Apparently this is what it looks like in safety bay... And in Cockburn Sound too!

Some sort of algal bloom unconfirmed as to whether relates to treatment plant outflow... Hope it doesn't keep the salmon away...

There was a large amount at West End 3 odd weeks ago. I doubt there is a connection to the increased bacteria from the outfall.
