July FOTM - The bloodworm

Post by Tony Ong » Wed Jul 29, 2020 3:19 pm

Hi all. Andre was supposed to put up July's fly of the month, but looks like he's got busy. I've stepped up to cover for him this month. Apologies for the rough tie, as it was a last minute job to get something up before the end of July. Which way do you think it should swim? Please see attached pics. Only constructive criticism please.

Looks like a simple tie. I might tie one of them.

Popular with some guides in New Zealand when the trout refuse everything else. They cover the hook with red heat shrink.

I must admit , I have indulged successfully. I wouldn't call it 'fly fishing' but it's better than bait ( and no smelly hands)

I tired to tie it last night but it was just too bloody complicated and now my hands are bleeding. Too advanced.
