Karratha shore based

Post by Paul Read » Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:21 pm

Hi All

Will have a flying trip up there next week staying one night so intend to fish in the evening after getting off the plane and the following morning before work. #8 and #10 coming with me.

Anyone got any recommendations for any spots?

Ta

Hi Paul
Can't help much with Karratha side , but did a little bit of Dampier landbased
while waiting on wind and tide.
Dampier forshore , walking south towards the commercial marina / causeway
produced Queenies , little Goldens , GT and some Bream.
Up on the Burrup road if you have access to a suitable vehicle , turn left just before
the Dampier Port Authority ( look on Google maps ) this gives you access to
King Bay . There are some nice looking flats in front of the mangroves.
Haven't fished there yet as I wasn't sure of my campervan making it in.
But have been informed by a local that that area holds Bluebone , BB , possibly
Permit as well as the usual queenies , gt , goldens etc.
Hearsons Cove ( sign posted , turn right ) walk up the beach there is a small stand
of mangroves in the corner. Also just beyond some low lying rock ledges.
If the tide is in can produce queenies and gt.
Whitnell Bay just after the gas plant , not the easiest shoreline to walk but can
produce the usual suspects.

Regards Mike
