Re: Hook sizes for exmouth ??
Sizes 2, 1, 1/0, 2/0, 4/0, 6/0
Most of the flies I tie for Exmouth are on size 1/0, 2/0 and 4/0 and the hooks I use are the Gamakatsu SL12S "Big Game"
Chris at Fly World stocks them: http://www.flyworld.com.au/view/230/
Rohan at Blue Water might also stock them.

You can order online from Chris at FlyWorld if you can't find a local supplier. (You probably won't find a local supplier either … they are considered to be a bit "specialised".)

If Chris doesn't have what you want, the cheapest place I have found online is Miller's

If it's just the one size, 2/0 Gamakatsu SL12s would be my choice. A 2/0 clouser will catch just about anything in our warmer waters. Aparently they've gone up a fair bit in price lately.
Mustad Signature Fly range have a hook called big game light. It's a similiar style hook, but with a longer shank. Great value priced hook, however starting harder and harder to get.
These would be my two favourite hooks.
If you're looking to support your local, there's a couple of choices. Mustad (and other brands) Tarpons, limericks, O'shaunessy hooks are all ok. Note the trend. They all don't have offset points. Some style of flies are fine tied on offset hooks. On the plus side, they are cheap and easy to find at most tackle shops. Most of these hooks aren't chemically sharpened, so you'll need to sharpen them yourself.
Tarpon hooks will probalby have the most application. It has just about the right dimensions for most flies. For most flats applications, wire gauge may be too heavy (harder to get a hookset). Limerick and O'shaunessy style hooks are usually a little too light in the smaller sizes. 1/0 and upwards are not too bad.
If you have a look at some of the online shops, there's a huge variety of 'fly' hooks available. If you thought buying a fly outfit was expensive, wait till you start tying and accumilating tying materials.

@ Simon: Using a 4/0 or 6/0 with heavy dumbell eyes will act like a sinker. Easy to get distance in the cast with a 16ft leader....hahahaha
Very wise from Tony: "If you thought buying a fly outfit was expensive, wait till you start tying and accumilating tying materials"
Once you have a big enough collection of tying materials it get easier to hide the new stuff from the wife.
