The Herring fishing down this way at the moment is really good. We have had some cracking catches in the early mornings. Becomes a bit more spasmodic throughout the day but if you want a chance to actually catch a (smaller) fish this seems to be the place at the moment. The whiting seems to have now moved back out, amazing how quick that happens. There are heaps of baitfish about and the light winds have made it a very pleasurable way to spend a couple of hours in the mornings.
I found this fish floating near Stingray point. Can anybody tell me what it is?
It was about 60cm long, I'd like to think there were more of these somewhere in the Estuary!

Looks like a Nor-West Blowie to me.
I hope there AREN'T more like it in the estuary if I'm right.
