Conditions wont be like that this weekend, though saturday arvo is looking good, the numbers of people on the water will be nuts. Busso is like a massive traffic jam at the moment. Im trying to convince the minister for domestic affairs to give me a quick leave pass tomorrow morning before too many people hit the water and its looking to be a little breezy too which might keep a few smaller boats off the water (need a few more squid for dinner anyway which will be my main reason to go).
Fishing in those conditions is epic... shame we dont have any permit swimming about down here as the flats would be epic for them.
Re: Salmon
Whispers that the salmon have reached Perth waters. Going to see if this is true tomorrow, weather depending. Hey Dave you fishing tomorrow? If so can I fish near you. May need a lightning conductor, but preferably not on my boat.

Got up to go out, but the radar look foreboding. Back to bed, methinks ....

Re: Salmon
Went again yesterday, bigger schools and crazy numbers of people chasing them. Figured friday might be the quietest day to do it and a bit of wind in the morning kept alot of boats off the water. Bagged 22 squid early for a good friday feed then headed off in search of salmon before the leave pass was due to expire. We got there and it was still pretty windy but spotted fish in the shallows and found them to be part of a bigger school out deeper. Was going to give the #8 S4S a bend but stayed with the #10 tidal and harfin combo and the same 2/0 clouser as last week too- resulted in a fish second cast. Then it was time to get my mate onto a fish as he hadnt landed a salmon on fly yet. He struggled with his combo which had a floating line so I gave him mine with the streamer express and I reckon about 4 casts in he was on as well. This fish swam through a lure fishers line and when we boated it we found about 40m of braid attached to a wire trace and a sinking bibless minnow on the end of it. Glad another fish didnt grab it or it might have busted us off. We cracked a can of export each to celebrate once it was released and headed back to the ramp and were back home by 1. The water was glassing right off and the numbers of boats arriving was growing at an alarming rate. Gave the boat a good wash at home and now staying away from the water for a few days till the tourists depart.

Re: Salmon
So do I! The finish on them is very solid too- would have thought from treatment it would have boat rash by now. Spoke to Ash last night to compliment him on the anodizing and asked if it needs any extra spray down from a salt remover or crc tackleguard and he said just fresh water works fine on them. Got to order my 3rd one soon, maybe one of those burnt orange coloured ones...
Re: Salmon
What rain? No lightning either.
Found some salmon, however by that time they had been bashed by countless boats and were pretty shy. Hard work trying to spot fish today.
